Magnesium glycinate FAQ
How do I read the label? Look for the elemental magnesium per dose. "1,422 mg magnesium bisglycinate" is the weight of the whole compound; the magnesium inside is a lot less. The daily reference intake (NRV) is 375 mg. Follow the dose on the pack and do not exceed it.
Glycinate or bisglycinate – is there a difference? No. "Bis-" simply means two glycine molecules per magnesium. Brands use both names for the same form.
When should I take it? Any time that suits you; many people take it in the evening. With food if your stomach is sensitive.
Can I take it with other supplements? Usually yes. If you take medication (for example antibiotics or blood-pressure tablets) or have a kidney condition, check with your GP or pharmacist first.
