Matcha in Malta – organic matcha powder, matcha latte and matcha green tea
Buy matcha in Malta at Prime Health Shop. Matcha is shade-grown green tea ground into a fine powder – instead of steeping the leaves, you whisk the whole leaf into water or milk, which gives a fuller taste than ordinary green tea. Which matcha should I buy?

How to make it
Sift ½ to 1 teaspoon of matcha powder into a cup, add a splash of water at about 80 °C (not boiling – it turns bitter), whisk or shake until smooth, then top up with hot water for traditional matcha or with hot milk or oat milk for a latte. Iced: shake matcha with cold water and ice, add milk.

Ceremonial or culinary grade? Ceremonial is the top leaf for drinking plain; culinary is slightly stronger in taste and better value for lattes and cooking. The matcha we stock is culinary/classic grade, chosen for lattes and daily use.
How much caffeine is in matcha? About 30–40 mg per gram – a normal serving has around half the caffeine of an espresso.
How do I store it? Sealed, in the fridge or a cool cupboard, away from light. Use within a couple of months of opening for the best colour and taste.
